Stefanik bill stops foreign adversaries from targeting US agriculture market amid world foods shortage

In addition, the proposed laws includes a provision that would make the Secretary of Agriculture a member of the U.S. Committee on International Expenditure and would call for reporting from the secretary on the chance of "international buys" of organizations in the agriculture sector.

The situation of meals safety has become a nationwide issue amid the ongoing war amongst Russia and Ukraine, which has led to worldwide food shortages.

Republican senators have warned that Russia is applying foodstuff manipulation as a weapon in its fatal invasion of Ukraine, and are doing work with Ukrainian leaders to convert attention to the deteriorating international food stability disaster.

The Biden administration has also taken notice of the impending disaster, with President Biden criticizing China past month for not using element in the United Nations' Food Safety Ministerial.
