Brittney Griner detention: WNBA superstar heads to ‘sham demo,’ Russian court system less than microscope

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and WNBA star Brittney Griner will seem in courtroom Friday, more than four months right after she was arrested in Russia for allegedly bringing vape cartridges made up of oils derived from hashish by a Moscow airport.

U.S. officials fear the American basketball icon will be the matter of a "sham trial."

Griner appeared in court docket Monday for the 2nd time considering the fact that her detention started in February, and her trial day was announced for later this 7 days.

Griner was arrested at Sheremetyevo Airport Feb. 17 just after she was accused of bringing vape cartridges that contains oils derived from hashish by means of safety.
