A California hiker who fell 70 toes in Tahoe Countrywide Forest last week was saved by his doggy in "real Lassie fashion" just after the pup led rescuers to its injured operator, officials explained.

The 53-calendar year-aged gentleman identified as 911 with his cellphone, complaining that he broke his hip and some ribs, Nevada County Sheriff's Lookup and Rescue said.

When the call dropped, rescuers informed KOVR-Television that they ended up in a position to call the hiker’s close friend who directed them to the man’s campsite. But the crew of 25 didn’t promptly find the hurt gentleman.

Even though combing the place, officers told KCRA-Tv that the man’s border collie named Saul rushed above to the rescuers.

The dog "ran through the forest around 200 yards and in genuine ‘Lassie’ manner to flag down two searchers and led them back to the matter which was included in a camo tarp," the rescue provider explained.

Rescuers brought the injured 53-year-old man to a sheriff's helicopter, which airlifted him to a hospital.
