California male who threatened to eliminate GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz sentenced by Florida Justice Department

The California person who threatened to get rid of Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., has been sentenced by the Florida Office of Justice.

Eugene Huelsman, 59, of Thousand Oaks, was found responsible of one particular count of transmission of a menace in interstate commerce and was sentenced to six months of home confinement, United States Legal professional Jason R. Coody for the Northern District of Florida Office of Justice declared Thursday.

"Words and phrases make any difference and this sentencing need to serve as a warning," she added. "The FBI and our legislation enforcement partners will function to maintain you accountable."

The sentence came immediately after Huelsman still left a profanity-laced voicemail on the cellular phone range for Gaetz’s congressional district business in Pensacola, Florida, which provided threats to get rid of him, on Jan. 9, 2021.

"Today’s sentence acknowledges the defendant’s recurring threats of violence and should serve as a major deterrent to these who would threaten violence against some others alternatively than interact in lawful debate," Coody continued.

In the information, Huelsman reported he was likely to "set a bullet in" Gaetz and his loved ones associates. He also stated he was "coming for" the Congressman, the Florida Justice Office mentioned.
