A Canadian prison inmate pleaded responsible to conspiring with yet another inmate to import and distribute fentanyl in the United States, which led to numerous overdoses and fatalities, authorities explained.
Jason Joey Berry, 39, of Montreal, pleaded responsible to conspiracy to distribute and have with intent to distribute managed substances and managed material ensuing in severe bodily harm and demise, and conspiracy to import managed substances and controlled substance into the United States resulting in significant bodily damage and loss of life, the Justice Office claimed.

Federal prosecutors reported Berry was imprisoned in Canada when he conspired with Daniel Vivas Ceron, 41, another inmate, to distribute drugs and income laundering.
