Charles Johnson, Super Bowl champ and former to start with-round draft decide, useless at 50

Charles Johnson, a former very first-spherical NFL draft decide who received a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in 2001, has died. He was 50.

Johnson was serving as an assistant athletic director at Heritage Large University in Wake Forest, North Carolina, in accordance to WNCN-Television set. The trigger of his loss of life was not known.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Johnson with the No. 17 select in the 1994 draft out of Colorado. He would later be paired up with his faculty teammate Kordell Stewart for a number of seasons.

Johnson performed for the Steelers from 1994 to 1998. He had 247 catches for 3,400 yards and 15 touchdowns. He experienced a breakout season in 1996 when he caught 60 passes for 1,008 with a few touchdowns. He had seven touchdowns in 1998.

He joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999 and performed two seasons for them. He experienced 90 catches for 1,056 yards and 8 touchdowns. He proved to be a trustworthy receiver for Donovan McNabb through his 1st two seasons.

MITCHELL SCHWARTZ, Tremendous BOWL Champion AND Four-TIME ALL-Pro, RETIRES FROM NFL

Johnson joined the Patriots in 2001 and won a Tremendous Bowl with the staff at the exact time Tom Brady was generating his emergence in the NFL. He previous played for the Buffalo Payments in 2002 right before stepping absent from the activity.
