Magnus Carlsen, one of the best chess gamers in the world, exposed Wednesday he refused to play in the world championship following calendar year in opposition to Ian Nepomniachtchi.

Carlsen, 31, said in a podcast job interview for his sponsor, Unibet, he has no motivation to defend his title.
