Florida Maritime veteran and pilot's unexpected emergency landing on North Carolina freeway caught on GoPro camera

A pilot traveling in North Carolina manufactured a daring emergency landing on a freeway, successfully weaving as a result of targeted visitors and finally coming to a comprehensive halt. 

The harrowing video was caught on the pilot's GoPro digicam.

On July 3, Florida resident Vincent Fraser still left a home close to Fontana Lake in Swain County. Fraser was traveling a single-motor airplane with his father-in-regulation when the motor began to fail. Fraser's only alternative was to endeavor to land on US Route 19.

"I begun going by way of my checklist, and I was capable to get the aircraft to restart and type of fly a minimal little bit, but she would only fly for 3 to 5 seconds, and then she would arrive back again down and commence to sink all over again," Fraser recalled to News 13. He additional, "By the grace of God, I seemed to my remaining, and you could not see it right before because, you know, it can be just all valleys and mountains, but there is certainly a highway — that street that I landed on just appropriate there, beautifully lined up."

Swain County Sheriff Curtis Cochran praised the pilot's "fantastic" landing, noting how Fraser was able to weave around the ability traces. 

"There have been so many matters that could have been catastrophic, but they didn't materialize," Cochran wrote.

The unexpected emergency landing, which Cochran identified as "Amazing," resulted in no injuries to any one on the highway or the pilot.

Fraser is a flight attendant for Allegiant and has about a year’s worthy of of solo flying working experience. Just before pursuing flying, Fraser was a Marine.

"I kind of went into this mentality that I had when I was in the Marine Corps. So, it was just, I had to save Jeff, that’s my objective was to help save our lives, and conserve the individuals on the ground and with as minor hurt as feasible," Fraser informed WINK News.

Following needed repairs ended up built, the aircraft took off after all over again from North Carolina.
