Highland Park Mayor: Robert Crimo III’s weapon was ‘legally obtained’

Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering advised NBC’s "Right now Exhibit" that the weapon suspect Robert Crimo III applied in the lethal Fourth of July parade capturing was "legally obtained" — and now the U.S. desires to re-look at gun laws in its aftermath. 

The Illinois mayor mentioned she is waiting around Tuesday for prosecutors to file prices from the 22-year-old accused of killing at the very least six and wounding much more than 30 in yesterday’s attack.

The mayor added that she was Crimo’s cub scout chief as a baby, describing him as "just a tiny boy."

"It’s just one of all those issues where by you phase again, and you say ‘What transpired?'" Rotering claimed. "How did any person become this indignant, this hateful to then acquire it out on harmless individuals?" 

Rotering explained to the "Now Exhibit" that she did not know in which the gun that was employed in the assault arrived from, but noted that it was "lawfully obtained." 

"I think at some issue the country demands to have a discussion about these weekly gatherings involving the murder of dozens of people with lawfully-obtained guns," Rotering continued. "If that is what our legislation stand for, then I think we require to re-take a look at the legal guidelines."

Rotering also referred to as the capturing an "completely devastating blow" to her community.

"I would instead target on why do we as a country allow this to transpire with these kinds of regularity? Why do we say, ‘Oh alright, that was that’?
