On Tuesday, July 5, the Israeli Ministry of Health published new data on the coronavirus epidemic.

The Ministry of Health announces the seventh wave of the epidemic. Coronavirus departments in hospitals are open.

Quarantine measures may soon be tightened. So far, the Ministry of Health does not insist on the return of the “mask regime” in the premises and public transport, although it recommends wearing masks.

The number of infected people is taken into account by PCR tests and tests at checkpoints (a positive home test result is not taken into account in statistics if it is not confirmed at the checkpoint). Note that many infected people are treated on their own, relying on the experience gained and monitoring their condition with the help of home tests. That is, the actual number of infected people may be much higher than indicated in the reports of the Ministry of Health.

In total, 4,398,686 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country since the start of the pandemic.

Over the past 24 hours, 49,538 tests have been carried out. Coronavirus was detected in 30% of cases. (The number of tests being conducted is clearly not enough.)

Judging by the report of the Ministry of Health, 66,579 people are currently infected.

10984 cases of COVID-19 died (0 per day).

1189 cases in hospitals (+24 per day), others are recovering at home. The number of hospitalized has risen markedly in a week.

The condition of 374 patients is assessed by doctors as severe (+24 per day), 50 are connected to ventilators or ECMO (-2 per day).

The infectiousness index (an index of the reproduction of the virus, showing how many people, on average, one infected person transmits it) – 1.06.

According to a report by the Israeli Ministry of Health, 92% of seriously ill patients are over 60 years old. The vast majority of those infected tolerate the disease easily.
