Kenosha, WI, supervisors have voted to oppose new gun limitations, elevate ban on firearms in county structures

Kenosha County supervisors have voted to oppose new gun limitations and lift a ban on firearms in county structures.

The vote will come a day soon after the Highland Park parade capturing that still left seven useless and dozens injured in neighboring Illinois and a July Fourth shooting in Kenosha that killed one particular person and injured four others.

Supervisor Terry Rose was just one of the board members opposed to loosening limits on firearms, citing the weak timing of the vote.

"We did not expect to have a shooting in Highland Park yesterday or shooting right here in Kenosha on the Fourth of July. But it does exhibit to you that guns are a difficulty in the local community. And I do not think that we’d lead to the protection of this county by enabling guns in county properties," Rose claimed through discussion of the resolution Tuesday.

Kenosha officers are seeking to carry ban on indoor gun ban.

The resolution lifts a 2011 ban on possession of firearms on county property other than for law enforcement officers. The new coverage excludes the county courthouse, jail and other law enforcement-connected properties, Wisconsin General public Radio described.

The board also voted to declare Kenosha County a Next Modification sanctuary. The resolution claimed the board opposes any laws that would "infringe on the Appropriate of the Men and women to maintain and bear arms" and would take into consideration all those legal guidelines "unconstitutional and beyond lawful legislative authority."
