A Rochester, New York, law enforcement officer died Thursday evening and another officer was injured soon after they were being shot by a suspect when on obligation in the northeast component of the city.

Aspects of the shooting have not been unveiled.

The suspect, David G. Jakubonis, was charged with felony 2nd diploma attempted assault. Jakubonis was released on his personal recognizance, according to the Monroe County Sheriff.
