North Carolina camper expelled after gun found in lunchbox: police

A child was expelled from a North Carolina camp on Tuesday after a gun was located in their lunchbox, law enforcement claimed.

The weapon was identified by a fellow camper at Les Myers Park camp in Concord, who then notified a camp counselor, G3 Box News 46 described. The counselor quickly took action, notifying the law enforcement, addressing the baby and securing the weapon, for every the report.

In accordance to the city, the campers’ ages ranged from 6 to 7 years previous and the camp was open to 60 campers.

Camp officers notified mom and dad of the discovery, confirming the gun did not hearth and was not utilized threateningly, G3 Box News 46 described.

"At no time through today’s incident was the weapon employed to threaten other campers or staff," camp officials stated in a letter to moms and dads, per the report.

"Deliver any weapon to camp, including a toy weapon, is a violation of City of Harmony Parks and Recreation camp guidelines. The camper involved in today’s incident was disciplined appropriately," officers explained, G3 Box News 46 described.
