Novak Djokovic still hopeful he’ll be authorized to compete at US Open

Tennis’ 21-time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic, says he's "planning" as if he’ll be permitted to compete in August’s U.S. Open in New York. 

Djokovic, who is coming off his seventh Wimbledon title, is not permitted to enter the United States due to his COVID-19 vaccination standing. The U.S. demands non-U.S. citizens to exhibit evidence of becoming absolutely vaccinated ahead of boarding a flight into the county, with confined exceptions.

On Saturday, Djokovic posted a information to his lovers on social media, indicating he is waiting around to listen to if he'll be equipped to enter the United States for the U.S. Open. 

"I am getting ready as if I will be allowed to contend, when I await to listen to if there is any room for me to vacation to US. Fingers crossed!" Djokovic said on his Instagram account.

Next his win at Wimbledon, Djokovic verified he will not get a COVID-19 vaccine to compete at the U.S. Open.

"I'm not vaccinated, and I'm not organizing to get vaccinated. So the only excellent news I can have is them eliminating the mandated eco-friendly vaccine card or regardless of what you phone it to enter United States or exemption," Djokovic claimed, in accordance to ESPN. "I don't know. I will not imagine exemption is realistically doable. If that is likelihood, I don't know what exemption would be about.

Djokovic is the winner of a few U.S. Open up titles right after dropping in previous year’s ultimate to Daniil Medvedev. The 2022 event is scheduled from August 29 to September 11.
