Law enforcement in New York Town witnessed a robbery on Friday at about 2:45 a.m. and attempted to intervene when the suspects opened hearth on the officers.

NYPD officers from the 13th precinct responded to the scene of a robbery in development. Officers returned fire just after the unidentified suspects during their escape began shooting at basic dresses law enforcement, the section explained. 

The theft took spot near the Doux Supper Club, a bar on 21st and 6th in New York Metropolis. The suspects fled the scene of the firefight in a silver Audi.

One particular stray bullet struck the side of a civilian's motor vehicle. No one was seriously hurt for the duration of the exchange.

Mayor Eric Adams expressed disappointment with a "lousy criminal justice program" Tuesday in a speech addressing latest targeted traffic crashes involving pedestrians, according to Spectrum News NY1. DiGiacomo, on the other hand, explained the law enforcement are acquiring no aid from the governor or metropolis officers.

John Caputo, a retired NYPD detective, warned Tuesday that officers are leaving the power in droves for "greener pastures" in excess of the tender-on-criminal offense procedures that have affected policing and general public basic safety as a complete. 

According to NYPD pension fund details, there were 1,236 officers who retired in 2020, and 1,064 in 2021. 

In 2022 so significantly, there have currently been 1,472 officers who have retired. 

"I have really seen other persons also go to other departments who have they just got properly trained by the NYPD have still left for greener pastures for extra revenue or just not this style of authorities that won't again you at all," Caputo told co-host Ashley Strohmier.
