Steelers' Cameron Heyward not delighted with Ben Roethlisberger's 'coddled' remarks: 'Rubbed me the incorrect way'

Previous Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has ruffled the feathers of aged teammates around his "coddled" opinions, like captain Cameron Heyward, who said the remarks "rub me the mistaken way." 

Heyward, who’s been with the crew because 2011, tackled Roethlisberger’s criticism on an episode of his podcast "Not Just Soccer" on Wednesday. He disagreed with Roethlisberger’s "me-very first" analysis and the apparent attack on a team he termed property for practically two many years.

"Person, they rubbed me the incorrect way," Heyward explained. "Ben is a Hall of Fame quarterback and he has played 18 a long time in our league, all with the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was a small little bit upset about it because I was normally elevated to shield the locker space. Roethlisberger also stated players right now appeared to be "coddled at a younger age."

But Heyward reported he took "offense," and seemingly set the blame on vets – which include himself – for the Steelers' lack of good results. 

"I assume we have a whole lot of young players that occur from distinct backgrounds. I imagine we have fellas that have experienced distinctive matters than what I or any individual else may have expert and that will not make them egocentric or more of a me-sort frame of mind."

Roethlisberger clarified his remarks on Thursday, indicating he was talking about the NFL in basic, not just Pittsburgh.
