Texas Border Patrol brokers nab convicted sexual intercourse offenders entering US illegally

Texas Border Patrol agents nabbed two convicted sexual intercourse offenders Tuesday morning following they illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico. 

Agents assigned to the Del Rio Sector encountered a group of migrants about 9:15 a.m. The migrants ended up going for walks in the brush hoping to not be noticed by Border Patrol, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Defense press launch.

Agents took the migrants into custody and transported them to the Eagle Go Processing Facility. History checks confirmed that 1 of the people in the group – a 42-12 months-aged Honduran national named Edis Noe Hernandez-Ruiz – was convicted of sexual battery in Ga in 2008 and spent 5 yrs in jail. He was deported in 2017. 

Less than an hour later, Eagle Go South Station agents came across a further team of migrants hoping not to be viewed just after illegally moving into the U.S. The brokers took the group into custody and transported them to the Eagle Go Processing Facility.

Through processing, brokers found that a member of the apprehended migrants – 55-calendar year-aged Jose Marlon de La O-Mejia, of El Salvador – was also a convicted intercourse offender. In 2001, De La O-Mejia was arrested in Alaska for sexually abusing a slight and sentenced to years in prison. He was ultimately deported in 2006.

Both topics, together with the other migrants, had been processed in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection procedures. CBP claims Hernandez-Ruiz and De La O-Mejia, as convicted felons with prior removals, experience up to 20 yrs in jail.
