Texas few arrested right after lifeless baby located in their filthy condominium, police say

A Texas pair was arrested this week after officers located a useless eight-month-old toddler in their apartment, law enforcement said. 

The Odessa Police Section uncovered the gruesome aspects in an arrest affidavit, declaring the infant had heavy bruising and swelling to the left facet of his facial area and head. There have been also several, smaller bruises along the leading of the lifeless baby’s cranium, law enforcement reported.

Officers claimed the inside of the couple’s apartment was raveled with what appeared to be pet dog feces on the floor, according to the affidavit. The few reportedly tried using to cleanse up some of the mess in advance of officers arrived. 

The baby’s father, 23-12 months-old Kameron Gammage, claimed the baby’s injuries have been from the toddler hitting his head on a tough part of the interior of the crib. The affidavit mentioned Gammage "remained unemotional and appeared to absence care about the incident during speak to."

The mom, 18-yr-previous Leyla Pierson, informed officers she discovered the infant not respiration and "frantically" went to Gammage to wake him up and convey to him about the toddler – but he appeared uncaring, the affidavit claimed. 

Pierson mentioned she informed Gammage to call 911 when he requested what he should do, the affidavit explained. He reportedly became apologetic to her and told her he hoped she wasn’t mad at him. Pierson also described Gammage has "extreme anger problems and has not long ago killed various dogs by strangulation." 

Later on, Gammage admitted conceded to these anger issues, telling investigators he experienced been dealing with a whole lot of stress lately, which includes the toddler crying, the affidavit reported. 

According to the affidavit, Gammage instructed investigators the newborn would not stop crying, and he experimented with to enjoy with him by tossing him in the air and catching him. He said he grew to become disappointed soon after the baby wouldn’t halt crying and "unintentionally" dropped the baby after the fourth toss, the affidavit said. 

Pierson advised police the pair did not find clinical focus for the bruising, and the child grew to become "fussy" over the upcoming couple of times, the affidavit stated.

Gammage was arrested and is now billed with capital murder as very well as other expenses from a separate incident. Pierson was also arrested for realizing about the injuries to the infant but neglecting to search for health-related consideration, police explained.
