Xiaomi presents its new flagship Xiaomi 12S Ultra, with Leica camera and 1-inch IMX989 sensor

Xiaomi has presented this Monday its new family of high-end mobile phones, Xiaomi 12S Series, the first family of the Chinese brand that uses Leica optics and consists of three models, among which the 12S Ultra stands out, with a Sony IMX989 sensor of 1 inch.

The Asian manufacturer announced at the end of June that this Monday it would announce the technical specifications of its new series of ‘smartphones’, with which they seek to “start a new era in imaging technology”, as expressed by the executive director and Xiaomi founder Lei Jun in a statement shared on Twitter.

Thus, the technology company has made these new members known in China through an event broadcast live. In this, he has also presented other products, such as Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro and Xiaomi Book S Pro 2022.

In the first place, Jun has wanted to recall the interest that the company has in reinforcing the photographic section of each of its devices and has pointed out that, over the years, it has managed to stabilize itself among the first positions of the portal specialized in DxOMark lenses and cameras.

“This cooperation with Leica is a very important part of our strategy”, pointed out the manager, who has insisted that “the image is the combination of technology, style and aesthetics”, reason enough for Xiaomi to have opted for the work of the German manufacturer.

First of all, Pei has indicated that all three devices feature a 4 nanometer (nm) Snapdragon 8+ processor. It is clocked at 3.2GHz and has 10 percent improved performance over Qualcomm’s previous Snapdragon 8 model.

This chip improves performance and reduces power consumption significantly. In addition, it is manufactured with a cooling system that prevents the device from overheating.

Other features they share are their glass design, which prevents fingerprints during use, and facilitates grip thanks to its rounded edges.
