Two soldiers at Fort Benning died and another three were injured after a “weather-related” incident in Georgia on Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the Army.

The type of weather incident was not immediately clear, and the identities of the soldiers have not been released as of press time. However, Army officials said the soldiers were participating in a training program on Yonah Mountain.

"More information will be released as more details become available," the Army said in a statement.

The three soldiers who were injured were treated on the scene by Army medics and were then transported to a local hospital, according to officials. Their conditions are unknown.

There was a severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service around that area in the afternoon, according to a local Fox affiliate.
