Cameron Smith shuts down questions about LIV Golfing offer: 'I’m below to win the FedEx Cup playoffs'

Cameron Smith declined to comment on rumors that he experienced already inked a offer with the rival Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit this 7 days, telling media at a press convention on Tuesday that his leading priority is to "win the FedEx Cup playoffs." 

The six-time PGA Tour winner had been rumored to be the newest participant to sign up for LIV Golf — a report that was seemingly confirmed by fellow Aussie Cameron Percy, who instructed an Australian radio exhibit that each he and Marc Leishman ended up "absent."

The Telegraph later described that Smith — who with the No. 2 rating would be the greatest-ranked participant to be a part of the league — signed a $100 million offer and would be competing in the circuit’s fourth tournament in Boston following month.

But Smith declined to address the studies, in its place reaffirming his dedication to the St. Jude Championship commencing Thursday. 

"My purpose in this article is to get the FedEx Cup playoffs. Which is all I’m right here for," he instructed reporters in what would be a transient presser. "If there is a thing I want to say concerning the PGA Tour or LIV, it will arrive from Cameron Smith, not Cameron Percy. I’m a guy of my word and whenever you men want to know nearly anything, it will be mentioned by me."

When questioned further about the reported signing bonus, Smith yet again declined to remark.

"I have no comment to that, like I stated — I’m listed here to engage in the FedEx Cup playoffs," he responded. "Which is been my concentration for the very last 7 days and a fifty percent. That is what I’m listed here to do. I’m in this article to earn the FedEx Cup playoffs. Like I claimed, it’ll appear from me, it will not come from Cameron Percy."

Smith reported he was "wanting ahead" to competing at the President’s Cup in late September, but executing so would signify he would not be competing at the LIV Golfing series in Boston more than Labor Day weekend. 

When pressed about it, Smith caught to his preceding remarks.
