Karine Jean-Pierre states allegations of DOJ politicization ‘not genuine at all’

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Sunday sought to debunk allegations by Republicans that the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) raid on previous President Donald Trump’s individual residence just months out from the midterm elections was politically enthusiastic.

Throughout an look on ABC’s "This 7 days," Jean-Pierre was requested to answer to responses Friday by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who pointed out that Trump is Biden’s most probable opponent in the 2024 presidential election and that the raid of Mar-a-Lago arrived much less than 100 days ahead of the crucial 2022 midterms.

"The FBI raid of President Trump is a total abuse and overreach of its authority," Stefanik explained in a clip played for Jean-Pierre.

"And I would remind our individuals on the other aspect that the FBI director was appointed by the president's predecessor," Jean-Pierre continued. "I would remind the folks on the other aspect that when Merrick Garland was without a doubt verified, it was a bipartisan manner. So once again, this is not what this is about. We do not interfere. We do not get briefed. The Section of Justice, once again, when it arrives to law enforcement issues, it is impartial, complete independence. And I am just not going to remark on that. None of us will, since we're likely to enable [Attorney General] Merrick Garland talk for himself."
