Los Angeles: 3rd suspect arrested in deadly shooting of off-obligation Monterey Park Law enforcement Officer Gardiel Solorio

A third suspect has been arrested in relationship with the lethal shooting of an off-responsibility Southern California police officer, authorities claimed Friday. 

Gerardo Magallanes, 18, of San Pedro, was arrested Thursday evening, times immediately after Monterey Park Police Officer Gardiel Solorio, 26, of Bell Gardens, was fatally shot in a parking lot of an LA Health and fitness gymnasium in Downey, California, the Downey Law enforcement Department claimed.

Magallanes' part in the shooting is not identified.

Previously this week, authorities arrested Carlos Daniel Delcid, 20, and a 17-yr-old suspect, police mentioned.

The rookie officer originally reversed absent from the suspects, who ended up attempting to rob him, prior to his car collided with yet another car or truck, Monterey Park Chief of Police Kelly Gordon explained Tuesday for the duration of a news meeting with Captain Scott Loughner.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva reported Downey law enforcement arrested two suspects and the investigation into Solorio’s death was nevertheless ongoing.

"We are pleased to know that arrests have been produced," the sheriff reported. "There is a great deal additional investigation to go on."

Delcid appeared in courtroom on Thursday and was purchased to keep on being in jail with no bail until a September arraignment, FOX LA reported.

Los Angeles District Legal professional George Gascón explained through a push convention Wednesday that Delcid faces fees of murder, attempted robbery, and currently being a felon in possession of a firearm — which could result in a existence sentence.

Solorio joined the Monterey Park Police Office in January, just after graduating from the county sheriff's academy on July 22. He began subject teaching on July 25.
