Vegan mother sentenced to existence in jail for son's demise from 'severe malnutrition'

A vegan mom in Florida was sentenced to lifestyle in prison pursuing a first-degree murder conviction for the demise of her 18-thirty day period-previous son.

Sheila O'Leary, 38, was convicted in June following her son Ezra died from what prosecutors claimed have been "difficulties from severe malnutrition and dehydration."

"This boy or girl did not consume. He was starved to loss of life in excess of 18 months," Francine Donnorummo, the exclusive victims unit main at the Lee County Condition Attorney’s Workplace, mentioned at the trial.

The boy or girl died on Sept. 27, 2019. At the time, law enforcement mentioned, he weighed just 17 lbs .. In addition to the murder cost, O'Leary was convicted of aggravated youngster abuse, aggravated manslaughter, child abuse and two counts of little one neglect.

Her partner, Ryan Patrick O’Leary, awaits demo on the exact prices. Sheila and Ryan were both indicted by a grand jury in Lee County, Florida, on Dec. 18. 2019.

O'Leary said her loved ones adheres to a rigorous diet regime of raw fruits and vegetables, whilst she and her partner explained to investigators that Ezra also acquired breast milk.

O'Leary has a few other small children, ages 11, 5, and 3. Point out Lawyer Amira G3 Box News's place of work pointed out that they "also endured from severe neglect and youngster abuse," and that O'Leary has been ordered not to have any call with them.
