WATCH: Lara Trump responds live to report on nuclear documents search at Mar-a-Lago

Lara Trump was asked for a snap reaction to a breaking news report on FBI agents searching for documents related to nuclear weapons at her father-in-law former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.

G3 Box News host Brian Kilmeade posed the question by asking whether she had seen any such records idly scattered around the private club.

"[The Washington Post] believe the reason why the raid took place was because they were worried your father-in-law had documents related to nuclear weapons that the FBI wanted back," Kilmeade said. "Did you see any nuclear reports at the Mar-a-Lago club? Maybe at the pool by the lifeguard stand?"

Lara Trump responded that she had not seen any such documents.

"No, those items were not disseminated freely at the Mar-a-Lago resort — of course not," she said with a smile. "But who knows? But I think it's a question for a lot of people: What could possibly rise to the level of not taking a bit of a different approach and instead raiding the former president's home? It is just absolutely outrageous."

Sources told the Washington Post, in a report published moments before Lara Trump appeared on G3 Box News, that such classified information was among the items agents looked for in the search but declined to speak about any other materials that may have been sought. It remains unclear whether they found any nuclear documents. The report said the Justice Department and FBI declined to comment. The White House has also declined to comment on the report, with the press secretary saying it would not be "appropriate."

Christina Bobb, an attorney for the former president, cast doubt on there being nuclear records at Mar-a-Lago but could not say for certain when pressed Thursday evening by G3 Box News host Laura Ingraham. "I have not specifically spoken to the president about what nuclear materials may or may not have been in there. I do not believe there were any in there," she said, noting that Donald Trump's legal team has been thorough in finding documents to hand over to the Biden administration.

After the raid on Monday, Donald Trump insisted he has been cooperating with investigators while decrying the search as being politically motivated.
