Aged California woman robbed by seemingly friendly 'distraction thieves': video clip

An elderly female in Glendale, California, was robbed by a group of seemingly friendly robbers in broad daylight, as law enforcement warning people to view out for an uptick in "distraction thefts".

Surveillance footage shows the 84-calendar year-old girl sitting down with a good friend in entrance of a property on August 26. A lady receives out of a gray car or truck, walks down the driveway and seems to hug the victim.

The suspect then attempts to promote a necklace to the elderly target whilst expertly eradicating the necklace the aged female currently had on.

Two additional suspects – such as a kid – method the girl and greet her. Whilst the second suspect attempts to acquire off the elderly woman's wedding ceremony ring, the boy retains up his t-shirt to deal with up the robbery from witnesses.

At the time the necklace was secured, all three suspects walked back again to their automobile and drove absent. The exact same motor vehicle was caught on digicam circling the road various occasions when the robbery took spot.

The victim's son mentioned not only was the necklace essential and sentimental to her, but also she was traumatized by the crime.

"It was so terrifying right after that. My mom does not want to arrive out," the victim's son – who wishes to continue being nameless – explained to to FOX 11 Los Angeles. "She's traumatized and she won't want to sit outside."

"My mother imagined that they want to set the necklace to present how great it is," he included. "But in fact, they were being hoping to acquire the necklace, the genuine one out." 

 The incident is getting investigated by the Glendale Police Office, which has described an uptick in these "distraction thefts".

Police recommend going for walks in groups, holding jewelry concealed, and being aware of one's environment when outside the house. They also warning residents to look out for men and women subsequent them or autos that seem out of put.
