California sheriff's workplace relieves 47 deputies of police obligations for 'unsatisfactory' on psych evals: report

Virtually 50 deputies in one California sheriff's agency have been relieved of their police obligations following "unsatisfactory" rankings on psychological exams courting again to 2016, months just after a deputy who earlier failed a psychological test shot and killed a married pair. 

In a Sept. 23 letter, Alameda County Sheriff Gregory Ahern statements a latest inside audit explained 47 deputies had received a "D. Not Suited" analysis from January 2016 by the existing.

Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Ray Kelly explained to the news outlet that retests would take place in the upcoming "couple months" but that he had no idea how quite a few of the 47 deputies would be able to get their positions back again. 

The re-exams would be conducted by a psychologist who will not function for the sheriff who is also credited with the California Commission on Peace Officer Expectations and Training. 

The letter came weeks after previous Alameda County deputy Devin Williams Jr. shot and killed a married pair inside their dwelling next his shift at the Santa Rita jail. 

He had been romantically included with the woman, who worked as a nurse. 

The news outlet reported that resources mentioned Williams failed his psychological exam and because of liability difficulties, the sheriff is now auditing who else in the section could possibly have also unsuccessful.

Resources who spoke to the news outlet claimed the psychological test process less than Ahern has been flawed. At a news Sept. 7 news convention, Kelly reportedly reported that Williams handed all the reference and psychological assessments and that there was almost nothing in his qualifications that would have prevented him from currently being employed as a deputy, in accordance to the news outlet.
