The two Ga sheriff's deputies who were being shot and killed when serving an arrest warrant this week were being identified on Friday. 

Cobb County Sheriff's Deputies Marshall Ervin, Jr. and Jonathan Koleski had been killed Thursday at a home in the Marietta spot while arresting a suspect required for theft, the sheriff's office environment said.

Soon after a practically 4-hour standoff with regulation enforcement, suspects Christopher Prepare dinner and Christopher Golden ended up taken into custody. Cook dinner was billed with the alleged theft and Golden was billed with two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and murder.

Ervin Jr., 38, was a father of two who joined the sheriff's business office in 2012. And Koleski, 42, was a U.S. Military Veteran who joined the sheriff's office environment in 2007.

"They had been fantastic adult males, guys of character and integrity, family members adult males, loved by their family and young ones," Cobb County Sheriff Craig Owens explained at a press conference.

The sheriff's office and the victims' family members are mourning the deaths.

"Our hearts are damaged right here in Cobb County," the sheriff reported. "It is a night time of heartache for two family members, two wives who have lost amazing husbands."

The deputies were being serving a warrant at the home at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday when they ended up attacked in what Owens explained as an ambush.

Owens mentioned the deputies knocked on the door and rang the doorbell but no a person answered. As the deputies have been returning to their patrol auto, a car drove up and a person from inside the motor vehicle opened fireplace on them.

It is unclear if the two suspects were in the car or truck when the shooting started.

The sheriff stated the deputies ended up ready to inform dispatchers of the shooting.

A standoff in between the suspects and regulation enforcement ensued, and Cook and Golden had been inevitably taken into custody.

The Cobb Sheriff's Foundation is accepting donations to help the fallen deputies' family members.

Law enforcement businesses from throughout the point out offered their condolences to the Cobb County Sheriff's Office.
