Restaurant's endeavor to honor 9/11 victims angers some clients

A Virginia restaurant’s try to honor the victims of 9/11 backfired when some slammed the restaurant's 9/11-themed seafood menu as offensive.

"My intention was to deliver awareness to that horrific day 21 a long time ago," George White, a manager at The Clubhouse at Aquia Harbour in Stafford County, wrote in a Fb put up apologizing for the menu, ABC 7 claimed. "To honor these who shed so significantly as properly as those who gave every thing that working day."

"I apologize for people I offended with the 9/11 seafood Sunday submit," the submit included. 

The Clubhouse at Aquia Harbour, which is found about an hour outside of Washington, D.C., launched the 9/11-themed seafood menu very last 7 days, which provided meals titled "To start with Responder Flatbread," "9-11 Oysters" and "Flight 93 Redirect" crab dip. The menu also involved chocolate silk "Pentagon Pie," a key lime-flavored "Keep in mind-tini" and a "Never Overlook" sampler, WTOP documented.

The menu was taken down, but screenshots of the menu keep on being on social media. 

Some voiced shock in excess of the theme of the menu. 

"I’m just form of stunned that an individual would, you know, use that as a way of obtaining I guess consumers to arrive in? I do not know," Jackie Adams informed G3 Box News 5.

"It’s a time for remembrance and reflection, and I really do not know if that menu depicted that form of predicament," Jeff Gibson extra.

Others claimed they are not guaranteed why there’s outrage more than the menu.

"I just really don't see why men and women would want to call it disrespectful," a particular person at a nearby grocery retailer, Chris Campbell, advised G3 Box News 5.

The menu was replaced by a "Seafood Sunday" menu, with soccer-themed meals, such as "Offense Oysters," "Fumble Flounder" and "Area Gold Flatbread."
