Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., drew comparisons between women of all ages jeopardizing their life to protest Islamic regulation in Iran to ladies battling for abortion legal rights in the United States.

During a campaign rally to re-elect Minnesota Attorney Basic Keith Ellison on Friday, Omar explained pro-life Republicans are challenging women’s bodily autonomy, much like Iran’s oppressive clerical routine led by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Dozens of individuals throughout Iran have been killed by law enforcement and hundreds arrested in protests ignited by the demise of 22-year-previous Mahsa Amini.

"As we watch the courageous, amazing youthful women in educational facilities in Iran who are standing up to instructors, younger women in buses and in public streets who are indicating ‘no’ to the morality police – since there is no morality in hoping to oppress girls," Omar claimed. "There is no morality in forcing persons to take part in a religion they do not want to. And there is no morality in believing government’s our God.

"So we know the women in Iran are bravely chanting, ‘Women, Daily life, Freedom’ for their legal rights, for their right to bodily autonomy," she continued. "So, here in the United States, when the ideal extremists are complicated our bodily autonomy, we have to stand up and say, ‘Women, Lifetime, Flexibility.’"
