Massachusetts governor says migrants bussed from Martha’s Vineyard leaving non permanent shelter at armed forces foundation

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker on Tuesday said the remaining migrants who were bussed from Martha’s Vineyard to Joint Foundation Cape Cod (JBCC) for short-term shelter are expected to go away this week. 

Forty-nine persons were being transferred to JBCC for shelter and humanitarian support on Sept. 16 after arriving at Martha’s Winery two times prior.

The remaining residents are envisioned to depart this week as more transitional housing alternatives are finalized. JBCC’s short-term shelter operation is expected to conclude by this weekend. 

Due to the fact the migrants were being transferred to JBCC, the Massachusetts Crisis Management Company (MEMA) has coordinated with point out, community, and nonprofit agencies to make certain the migrants have meals, outfits, shelter and psychological health resources. 

Baker’s place of work said Martha’s Winery Communities Services (MVCS) have offered economical guidance to assist transition initiatives.
