New York Democratic congressional candidate Max Rose said he doesn't support Joe Biden running for a second term as president.

Rose is set to face off against incumbent Republican Nicole Malliotakis again for New York's 11th Congressional district after being unseated by her in 2020. He made the announcement after it was reported Biden told the Rev. Al Sharpton that he planned to run for reelection in 2024, though he hasn't made an announcement yet.

"I do not think that Donald Trump should run in 2024. I do not think that Joe Biden should run in 2024," Rose told FOX 5 NY. "I'm sick and tired of that generation being in power. We've got to move on."

"We have to turn the page, not just on this politics of ineffectiveness but also these politics of division and vitriol. It's time to move on as a nation," he added.

Biden, who will turn 80 after the midterm elections, has faced increasing questions about his intentions for a second term. During a sit-down interview last month, Biden told 60 Minutes that he would wait until after November to decide for certain.

Rose served in the Biden administration as a COVID-19 adviser to the Pentagon in 2021.
