South Carolina person states ‘witches’ commanded him to toss doggy more than bridge: police

A person accused of twice tossing a puppy about a bridge said he was instructed to do by witches, according to law enforcement.
Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement Officers responded to a call Monday, October 3, 2022, of an individual tossing a pet dog from a bridge above water found on Freeway 11 in the Fingerville space of Spartanburg County.

A witness advised officers that a man was tossing a dog off and about the bridge. Officers searched in the location below the bridge and observed a male – later identified as 43-12 months-previous Shannon Lee Cantrell – holding a dog in a choke maintain.

Cantrell told the officers that "witches" told him to throw the dog from the bridge. Police mentioned the canine was thrown two times and damp from becoming in the water underneath. Cantrell told the officers that the pet dog was his and unveiled ownership to Spartanburg County.
Officers determined the distance from the bridge to the ground was close to 34 feet. The 1-calendar year-old doggy did not demonstrate any visible signs of injury but was "clearly shaken" by the incident, police explained. The doggy was transported to Greenville County Animal Treatment for assessment.

Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Workplace arrested Cantrell and transported him to the Spartanburg County Dentition Centre. He faces an animal cruelty charge.
