White Residence defends Biden's 'Armageddon' comment, suggests no sign Russia preparing to use nuclear weapons

The White House on Friday mentioned it has seen no indication Russia is getting ready to use nuclear weapons irrespective of comments created by President Biden warning the U.S. has not "faced the prospect of Armageddon" in 60 many years. 

"We have not witnessed any explanation to adjust our individual strategic nuclear posture, nor do we have indications that Russia is getting ready to imminently use nuclear weapons," White Dwelling push secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters aboard Air Power A single. 

Jean-Pierre defended remarks made by the president before Friday, stating, "The variety of irresponsible rhetoric we have witnessed is no way for the chief of a nuclear-armed state to communicate, and which is what the president was creating very distinct."

But French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday appeared to rebuke Biden’s remarks and urged Western officials to be responsible when countering the threat of nuclear warfare.  

"We ought to talk with prudence when commenting on this kind of issues," Macron said Friday, according to Reuters.
