Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot slams Texas Gov. Abbott as a 'man with out any morals' following sending migrant buses

Democrat Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot slammed Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday afternoon, calling him a "gentleman without the need of any morals" right after he despatched two buses of migrants to her city's Union Station on Wednesday night time.

Lightfoot manufactured the remarks for the duration of a press meeting with city leaders and area associates.

"Permit me say loud and obvious to Greg Abbott and his enablers in Texas with these ongoing political stunts, Gov. Abbott has confirmed what unfortunately quite a few of us had identified by now, that he is a male without the need of any morals, humanity or disgrace," Lightfoot explained.

Lightfoot also explained that Abbott selected to "inhumanely load them on to buses" and mail them to Chicago without "any regard for what the next techniques are."

"These are human beings, moms and dads, younger kids, elders, who ought to have our regard and dignity. They're not cargo. They are not chattel. They're human beings, just like you and me," she claimed. "Gov. Abbott's racist and xenophobic procedures of expulsion have only amplified the problems many of these migrants have experienced on their journey to locate a risk-free spot. The governor's actions are not just inhumane, they are unpatriotic."

The Chicago mayor included that the bus business that was contracted by Texas to make the trip to Chicago was "just as complicit in being component of this indignity."

Abbott created the final decision to send two buses carrying migrants to Chicago on Wednesday, which arrived at the city's Union Station at 7:30 p.m., carrying migrants who crossed the southern border illegally.

Around 75 migrants were on the two buses, according to Lightfoot. A lot of of the migrants reported they ended up from Venezuela on exiting the bus.

Abbott said in a assertion following the buses' arrival at Union Station that Chicago would now be a "drop-off site" for future migrant buses in response to "President Biden's open border guidelines overwhelming border communities in Texas," signing up for New York City and Washington, D.C.

Lightfoot said in response to questions from reporters on Thursday that it is "my prayer" that Abbott "finds some humanity" and will not proceed to deliver buses of migrants to Chicago, but stated if he does, "we're ready."

"[Abbott] is attempting to build crises in Democratic-led towns to display his toughness," Lightfoot reported.

In a statement to G3 Box News Digital, Abbott's press secretary Renea Eze said that Lightfoot is becoming an "complete hypocrite."

"The place was her outrage and condemnation of President Biden as he flew planeloads of migrants across the place and dropped them in communities in the address of night time? Mayor Lightfoot knows nothing about Texas' busing strategy and demands to cease with the baseless lies and fearmongering. Texas continues stepping up and responding to the Biden-made border crisis, having unprecedented action to tackle the historic amounts of unlawful immigrants, terrorists and fatal medicines like fentanyl that are surging into our communities and mind-boggling border towns," Eze claimed.

"If the mayor wishes a resolution to this humanitarian crisis, she should stop complaining and contact on President Biden to acquire fast action to secure the border — something the President continues failing to do," she extra.

During the press meeting on Thursday, Caleb Senn, Chicago region commander for the Salvation Army, said that it is collaborating with the town to supply support to the migrants who arrived at Union Station on Wednesday night.

"Our mission is to assure that all people today, no matter if from Chicago or Venezuela, know no starvation and have a secure put to slumber," Senn claimed. "We are, as the Salvation Army, praying for these people who have occur to our town and their family members as they alter to new surroundings.
